Wimborne Musical Theatre presents the well-known musical, The Sound of Music, which follows the true life story of the Von Trapp family. The Sound of Music was successful as a stage musical, opening first in New York in 1959 where it ran for 4 years, and subsequently in London in 1961. The film version starring Julie Andrews reached even wider audiences when it was released in 1965.
