Mother Goose graphic
If you want a pantomime that your granny will enjoy as much as your smallest children, look no further than the Tivoli, where the goose has laid a pretty special golden egg.

There are no big names but don't let that put you off - this production has quality stamped all over it. For your money you get not one baddie but two: the evil Fairy Vanity (Deborah Jeffrey) and Tim Curry lookalike Squire McNasty (Guiliano Cripini). Then there's the slightly dippy Fairy Virtue (Linda Hampton) and the definitely dippy Thunderbirds fan Billy Goose (Peter Callaghan), whose very appealing pet frog is called - naturally - Parker. And of course there's Mother Goose herself (Neil Marriot) and Dolly Goose (Isabelle Woywode) - she's the proper goose in case you're confused.

The love interest is provided by Jill Goose (Jenni Bowden) and Jack McNasty (Jenny Ellis), while minor roles and chorus are played by hugely enthusiastic youngsters from the Stagewise Theatre School.

All th eprinciples have tremendous enargy and a great rapport with the audience, the acting and singing are first rate and the show romps along at a terrific pace, sending its audience out into the night with smiles on their faces.

Goose for Christmas? A rare treat.
