A veteran performer at the top of his game – the playing is immaculate and full of passion, as you would expect from one of the UK’s leading exponents of blues guitar”

Come and see John and the guys live for a night of blistering blues with a rocky edge!

John Verity (guitar and vocals), Liam James Gray on drums and Bob Skeat (Wishbone Ash) on bass.

John Verity is perhaps still best known for his time in ‘Argent’ from 1973 to 1976, after Russ Ballard recommended John as his replacement, noticing he would be a ‘good fit’ after seeing an early version of The John Verity Band supporting Argent whilst John was on the road promoting the first JV album. Prior to that he spent time working in the Bahamas and the USA which culminated with prestige support slots for Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and many others.

John has had a varied and amazing career, supporting rock luminaries such as JIMI HENDRIX, JANIS JOPLIN, THE WHO, JOHN MAYALL’S BLUESBREAKERS and MOUNTAIN and recording with RINGO STARR, KEITH EMERSON, GREG LAKE, TIM ROSE, ZOMBIES, COLIN BLUNSTONE, PHOENIX, CHARLIE and ARGENT to name but a few.

Recording and touring constantly, with his distinctive soulful blues edge, 2017 has already been John’s busiest in recent years and especially so with live appearances with his band; a fluid line-up but always with musicians of the highest professionalism and musicality. The current touring schedule to promote ‘My Religion’ for this year so far, sees the guys playing in venues from Inverness to Devon, Wales to Norfolk and everywhere in between! Continuing in the same vein with dates booked at high profile venues across the UK for later this year and well into 2018, John is pleasing old friends and winning over new fans.

Comments from audience members at HRH Blues at Sheffield 02:-

‘For me, John Verity Band were the highlight of the weekend. I didn’t know what to expect but they were awesome! I am now a confirmed Verity fan!’

‘An electrifying gig with brilliant songs and expert playing. Every moment was to be savoured.’

‘I’m listening to John Verity today. I first saw him in Sheffield recently and was utterly stunned and gobsmacked by just how good he is. This guy has the best style and touch – as a player he makes me tingle. I suggest to you all out there- miss this guy at your peril’.

John also found the time earlier in 2016 to record and produce the latest album ‘My Religion’. This was released in April as a CD plus a vinyl double album in June and achieved critical acclaim from respected publications including ‘Blues in Britain’ and ‘Blues Matters’ with airplay on many radio stations including Paul Jones show ‘Nothing but the Blues’ on BBC Radio 2.

Plus support: Riders to Ruin (Formerly Bare Knuckle Blues)

‘Riders to Ruin are a 4 piece hard rock band from Cornwall who write and perform their own original brand of British rock and roll. The band is made up of Rob Summers on vocals/guitar, Tim Mills on lead guitar, Adam Hicks on bass and Tim Bartle on drums. Expect a high energy, hard rocking show with hooks a plenty.’
