One of the greatest rock bands of all time, The Who celebrate 50 years of classic songs live in London’s Hyde Park. The show-stopping performance features all of their greatest hits and proves The Who are still one of the best live bands playing today.
Recorded in front of a sell-out crowd of 65,000 fans, Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend deliver a definitive set list of all the greatest hits as The Who take their audience on an ʻAmazing Journeyʼ through their entire career from classic albums such as Who’s Next, Tommy, Quadrophenia, My Generation and Live At Leeds up to the present day
Featuring ‘My Generation’, ‘Pinball Wizard’, ‘Baba O’Riley’, ‘Who Are You’, ‘The Kids Are Alright’, ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’, ‘You Better You Bet’ and many more, audiences on a rocking rollercoaster through The Who’s outstanding catalogue of hits.
Co-founders Roger and Pete are joined by Zak Starkey (Ringo Starr’s son) on drums and Pino Palladino on bass to help create that signature sound that has made The Who such unmissable performers.
Complementing the live performance, the exclusive cinema featurette includes interviews with Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend talking about playing Hyde Park and what The Who means to them and their fans after 50 years. Other contributors include Robert Plant, Iggy Pop, Johnny Marr and others, explaining just how influential and admired the band were – and still are – by their rock peers.
It was a few miles west of Hyde Park that 50 years ago Townshend, Daltrey and the late Keith Moon and John Entwistle created the soundtrack for the capital’s original Mod scene – playing adrenaline (and more) fuelled vignettes of aspiring working class teenage life. It is the band’s ability to still thrill five decades later which makes this film an electrifying cinematic event not to be missed.
