Alison Larkin is a Best-Selling Novelist, and Comedian bringing her show ‘Grief: A Comedy’ fresh from the Soho Theatre, Edinburgh Fringe, Radio 4 Woman’s Hour Appearances, and encouragement from Desmond Tutu on tour.
Alison found true love for the first time in her 50’s with an Indian climate scientist who had also immigrated to the US. Then he died. Then something wildly unexpected happened. Instead of wanting to hide under the bed and never come out, Alison found herself wanting to live and love more fully than ever before. When Archbishop Desmond Tutu found out about it, he insisted she write this show. Music by Emmy award winning composer Gary Schreiner. It is touring the UK following a sold out US run.
She has talked about it on BBC Woman’s Hour, and is publishing Grief…A Comedy as a book in 2024 as well and will be touring with it. Alison Larkin is the bestselling author of The English American, which was published by Simon & Schuster in 2009 and called ‘most powerful book of the season’ by Vogue.
